Helen Ann Sarson Obituary

The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 of Helen Ann Sarson of Warren Grove, PEI and formerly of New Glasgow, NS, aged 86 years. Helen was born in Stellarton N.S. to her late parents Herbert and Carrie (nee MacPherson) Sarson.



Loving mother of Herbert (Tracy) Lamey, Richard Lamey, Judy (Kevin) Warren, Mark Lamey, Lisa (Garth) Doiron. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Colin, Matthew, Nisa, Zach, Tanner and Sarah and her great-grandchildren Dakota and Ethan. Survived by her sisters Shirley Kavanaugh and Jessica Sarson, as well as her nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her siblings Leonard “Lennie”, Llewyllen “Lew” and infant brother Lloyd.




A devout Catholic, Helen spent time each day in prayer and always had a bottle of holy water waiting and ready to sprinkle on the people who mattered most in her life. Helen was a wonderful caregiver to all and took great pride in her work as an RCW, dedicating 10 years to the service to the seniors of Wedgewood Manor. A loyal friend, Helen was always ready to share a hot cup of tea and lend a listening ear. She enjoyed a good laugh, a shared meal, and putting on her dancing shoes. Helen was an active member of various community groups throughout her life. Helen was the proudest of her children and grandchildren and she made her love for them known daily.


Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, where a private family visitation will take place. The Funeral Mass will be held at St Paul’s Church, Summerside on November 28, 2022 at 10:30 am, all are welcome. Interment to take place in the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, New Glasgow, NS. on Wednesday, November 30th at 10:30 a.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
