Early Sunday morning, Dr. Stephen M. and Audrey L. (Spillman) Dubuc tragically lost their sole perfect and beautiful daughter, Jasmin Paige DuBuc at the young age of nineteen. Born into the Bear Clan of the Mohawk Tribe on May 3, 1994, Jaz leaves her incredibly large family, though entirely heartbroken, with the most perfect of legacies, her newborn son, Chase Joseph.
In addition to becoming a mother, Jaz was to complete her studies at Niagara-Wheatfield High School this spring, looking forward to graduation June 7, 2013.

Though she will be physically absent from our lives, none that met her will ever forget Jaz's infectious giggle, her cherubic smile, or her strong sense of self.  She was hope, and life, and very much meant to be where ever she was. The void left by such an unprecedented loss can never truly be filled, but the myriad of indelible memories made of and with Jaz will continue to shine brightly through her loving family and friends.  In the spirit of Jaz, and to quote Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened" - her journey was a short one, but the memories will be forever.

Jasmin is survived by her precious son Chase Joseph Dubuc, devoted parents Dr.  and Mrs.  Stephen M. and Audrey L. (Spillman) Dubuc, and loving grandfathers Jerome Dubuc and Jesse Buchanan, dozens of caring aunts and uncles, and innumerable close cousins. She was predeceased by her grandmothers, Faith Dubuc and Patricia (Spillman) Buchanan, and grandfather Jack Spillman.

The family will be receiving friends and loved ones at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11 AM at Holy Family Chapel, 5180 Chew Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Peter M. Calabrese officiating.  

Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery on the Tuscarora Nation.
