<p>John Remington Emery April 15 1933 – November 15 2022</p><p><br></p><p>John passed away on November 15, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Joanna, devoted father of Susan (Jamie), David (Clare), and Hope (Andy). Proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>John was born in London, England on April 15, 1933. He was in London during the Blitz and enjoyed a long holiday after his school was bombed. His grandchildren enjoyed his wartime stories and other humorous and exciting lifetime events.</p><p><br></p><p>John immigrated to Victoria BC with his parents Jim and Florence Emery in March 1948. He graduated from Vic High in 1950 and was a flight Lieutenant Navigator in the RCAF from 1952 to 1964. He received a degree in Civil Engineering in 1962 from UBC and was employed in construction, the Federal Government (industrial and exploration development), City of Calgary (economic development), and private consulting (Cranbrook). He married the love of his life, Joanna Lum, on December 8th 1956. John and Joanna retired to Fort Steele in 1993 and operated a successful B &amp; B and Outdoor Wedding facility.</p><p><br></p><p>John had an active and happy life showing love, charity, and compassion to all. He was devoted member of Christ Church in Cranbrook and served as warden, lay reader, and Sunday School superintendent to several Anglican churches in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. He will be missed by his family, friends, and associates.</p><p><br></p><p>John led an active and happy life, showing love, charity, and compassion to all. He will be missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Christ Church Anglican in Cranbrook B.C. on a later date. No flowers by request. You may wish to donate to Christ Church Cranbrook.</p>
