Virgie Ann Sowell Boone, age 70, passed away, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at her home. Born in Camden, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Melvin Sowell and Mary Jane West Sowell. Mrs. Boone was in the food service industry and attended New Haven Baptist Church. She loved to rescue animals, especially cats. She enjoyed cooking, browsing flea markets and thrift stores. Ann never met a stranger. She had an infectious smile and laugh. She was always doing for someone else before herself. Ann was also caregiver for her father for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip Boone; her son, Chris Sowell and his wife, Ashley; her sister, Linda S. Faulkenbery; 2 brothers, Larry Sowell and his wife, Joann and Samuel “Sam” Sowell; her stepson, Michael Boone and his wife, Jami and their children, Olivia and Emma; her mother-in-law, Elsie Boone and special friend, William Goins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Gene Faulkenberry, her father-in-law, Marion Boone and her sister-in-law, Debbie B. Hilton.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2022, in New Haven Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C. Pastor Herbert MacCue will officiate.

The family will greet friends, following the service at the church.
