Dean Kosel Obituary

Dean “Senator” Sidney Kosel was born on August 10, 1944, in Springfield, Minnesota to the late Walter and Agnes (Nickel) Kosel. He was baptized and confirmed at the Red Rock Methodist Church in rural Sanborn. He received his education in the Jeffers Public Schools, graduating in the Class of 1962.

For many years, Dean worked as a heavy construction truck driver until his retirement in 2004. Dean will be remembered most for his love for making people laugh. He also had a great interest in cars, trucks and tractors which led him to buy a Model A Ford that he was in the process of restoring.

Recently, Dean’s health began to decline, and he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom where he entered hospice care. Dean passed away peacefully there on Thursday morning, November 24th, 2022, at the age of 78 years.

Left to cherish Dean’s memory are his nieces and nephew, Karen (Tom) Raderstorf of Columbus, OH, Mary (Dave) Olson of Plymouth, and Chad (Tina) Kosel of Westbrook; and sister-in-law, Betty Lou Kosel.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert (Velva) Kosel and Douglas Kosel.

Memorials are preferred, in Dean’s name, to Avera Hospice.
