FALL RIVER… Maria (Sousa) daSilva, 91, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Catholic Memorial Home, in Fall River, surrounded by her family.

    She was the widow of the late Armando daSilva.

    Born in Santa Maria, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Filomena Sousa Braga.

    Prior to retiring, Maria worked for most of her career as a sewing machine operator at the former Lexcraft Manufacturing. She was a parishioner of Santo Christo Parish and enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. She also loved having her coffee, especially with her croissant with extra bacon.

    She is survived by two sons: Armando J. Silva (wife Maria L.), of Fall River, and Antonio C. Silva (wife Dina M.), of Somerset; two sisters, a brother, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

    Her funeral will be held Monday, November 28, at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m., at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m.
