CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Paul "Bebop" Arceneaux, Sr., age 62, who passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his residence in Carencro.

Brother Bob Trahan will officiate at the services.

Mr. Arceneaux was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Carencro. He was the successful owner and operator of Paul's Towing, LLC established in 1978. He was a hardworking man and had an abundance of knowledge that he passed on to his workers. Although the accident on February 11, 2022 took his physical ability away to work, the desire and want to continue to run his company never left.

Paul was an incredible man: loving, kind, generous, and devoted in every aspect of that word. He was physically and mentally strong, the protector of the family, and worried more about taking care of them than his own self. He had an infectious personality, a heart of gold and a beautiful, contagious laugh to which his wife, Sherri, fell in love with. Vacationing with his bride and family was his favorite pastime, especially cruises, but any time spent with them whether at home or on a trip was cherished. Paul adored his children and grandchildren, he gave them everything they ever wanted and longs for the day to be able to hold them and spend time with them again.

Paul was known by many names, Bebop by his best friend, Pop to his grandchildren, and many loving names by Sherri. Paul and Sherri were inseparable. They met at the age of eighteen right out of high school, married at twenty and on June 12th made forty years of a purely blissful marriage. The love they shared was like no other - the playfulness never faded, the love never wavered. He loved her from the depths of his soul and she cannot wait until he is whole again and they can rest in Paradise together. Paul was a baptized servant of Jehovah at the age of twelve. He is now resting in Jehovah’s memory. Waiting for Jesus’ call to awaken him from sleep.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Sherri Arceneaux; his sons, Paul, Jr., Devin, Gage, and Tyler; his daughter, Amanda; his father, Seymour Arceneaux, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Nola Bourgeois Brady; two grandchildren, Sophie and Ashton; four brothers, Gerald (Pam), Calvin (Sheila), Seymour, III, and Michael; four sisters, Betty (Gary), Kathy (Joe), Sharon (Monty), and Vickie (Jeremy); one brother-in-law, Quinnon, Jr. (Tina); and four sisters-in-law, Karen (Greg), Tia (Nickolas), Nola (Joe), and Tonya (Jason).

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean Wallace.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Paul, Jr., Tyler, Devin, Gage, Ray, Quinnon, Jr.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
