<p>Glen Stephen “Steve” Blakley, 71, passed away from complications related to his long-term fight against Leukemia and Renal Cancer, in the early morning of November 21, 2022 while under the excellent care of Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital. </p><p>Steve was born April 10, 1951, in Springfield IL, son of Glen Clifford “Cliff” Blakley and Betty L Blakley. Steve was married for 43 years to Elizabeth “Liz” Key (Glasgow, KY) and previously married to Jennifer “Jen” Craig (Paris, IL). </p><p>Steve was a people person, through and through, who very much enjoyed golfing, fishing, and especially spending time with family and the little ones. During his time in Florida, Steve became involved in fundraising for both St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society, establishing and conducting the Knock-Out-Cancer Golf Outing at the Palm Cove Golf Course in Palm City, FL for 2 years. </p><p>Steve is survived by his wife Liz (Casey, IL), 5 sons: Larry Greger (Ft. Pierce, FL), Brian Greger (Cave City, KY), David Henry (Las Vegas, NV), Chris/Lori Blakley (Seneca, IL) and Curt/Jamie Blakley (Rantoul, IL), 4 siblings: Sue/Dick Bellum, Greg/Cheryl Blakley, Gaye Longeway and Glori Smith, and an extensive list of nieces/nephews/grandchildren/great grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by both his parents, a daughter Courtney, and a great grandson Mason. </p><p>Memorial visitation will be held from 9am-11am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois, 61834.&nbsp; Service will follow at 11am at the funeral home.&nbsp; Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>
