<p>Coy Wayne Cox, age 75 of Morgan’s Point Resort, Belton, Texas, passed from this life Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Baylor Scott &amp; White Continuing Care Hospital in Temple. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 11 am Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Temple. </p><p>Coy was born on October 27, 1947, to Edward Coy and Alvina (Scaff) Cox in Plainview, Texas. He attended Temple High School and was an officer in the THS band. Coy was a member of the All-American Youth Honor Band to Columbia. He also attended Sam Houston State University. </p><p>Coy enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and served in the Mediterranean on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was honorably discharged in 1972. </p><p>Coy married Patsy Ann Sefcik on June 16, 1973, at the Evangelical Brethren Church in Temple, Texas. After his service in the Navy, he worked for Woolco Automotive, and Walmart Automotive, and was a manager of Auto Zone until he retired. Coy was a member of Heights Baptist Church, Seaton Brethren Church, and First Baptist Church Temple. </p><p>Coy is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Sefcik Cox of Morgan’s Point Resort, Belton; sister, Rita Kay and husband, Kirby Skopek of Morgan’s Point Resort, Belton; sister-in-law, Paula Dixon of Temple; nephews, Jeremy Dixon and wife, Lynne of Santa Fe, and Joshua Dixon and Jessica Wasson of Houston; nieces, Dr. Tracy Skopek White and husband, Dan of Longview, and Suzette Thompson and husband, James of Mesquite; grandnephews, Kole Dixon and fiancé, Lanie of Galveston, and Ethan Thompson of Mesquite; and grandniece, Samantha Thompson of Denton. </p><p>Memorial donations may be made to USO of Fort Hood, Texas, Wounded Warrior Project, and Tom Popelka Ministries. </p><p>Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements. </p>
