Cecile Cottom

<p>Cecile&nbsp;Betty Cottom&nbsp;(Lowe), a devoted mother, grandmother,&nbsp;sister,&nbsp;and&nbsp;aunt&nbsp;was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania&nbsp;from the union of&nbsp;Dorothy&nbsp;Blessitt&nbsp;and Cecil&nbsp;Lowe. &nbsp;She departed this temporal life in preference to life eternal on&nbsp;Saturday,&nbsp;November 19, 2022. </p><p>Cecile was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system. She started her career at Allegheny General Hospital&nbsp;as a Unit Clerk. &nbsp; During her employment there, she&nbsp;educated herself and was promoted to Executive Secretary for General Medicine&nbsp;where She remained for 29 years. </p><p>After leaving Allegheny General Hospital,&nbsp;Cecile began a new journey at UPMC Health System as an Access Lead for&nbsp;the&nbsp;Ortho Surgery&nbsp;Department&nbsp;where she retired. </p><p>Cecile had the most beautiful smile that would light up a room. She was a real go getter, who enjoyed reading, learning new things, sharing knowledge with others, loving to&nbsp;dance,&nbsp;and enjoying&nbsp;fishing with her late husband. </p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Lowe&nbsp;and&nbsp;Dorothy&nbsp;Blessitt,&nbsp;brother,&nbsp;Elwood Means and husband John Cottom Jr. </p><p>She leaves to celebrate her life and love three children, </p><p>Ralph Craig&nbsp;Jr.,&nbsp;Marcel Craig,&nbsp;Mary Lynn Craig&nbsp;and a very special daughter from another&nbsp;mother,&nbsp;Sheila Ellis;&nbsp;12&nbsp;grandchildren,&nbsp;8&nbsp;great-grandchildren;&nbsp;sister,&nbsp;Katherine&nbsp;Bush&nbsp;and&nbsp;brother,&nbsp;Marcel Means&nbsp;and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

Obituary

Cecile Betty Cottom (Lowe), a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from the union of Dorothy Blessitt and Cecil Lowe.  She departed this temporal life in preference to life eternal on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Cecile was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system. She started her career at Allegheny General Hospital as a Unit Clerk.   During her employment there, she educated herself and was promoted to Executive Secretary for General Medicine where She remained for 29 years.

Ralph Craig Jr., Marcel Craig, Mary Lynn Craig and a very special daughter from another mother, Sheila Ellis; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Bush and brother, Marcel Means and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
