Obituary

Raised in a small town in South Texas Consuelo Vega Garzoria was born in 1947 to Bonifacio and

Angelina Vega. Known as Connie to her friends and family; she has joined her parents in heaven.

Passing away on Sunday the 20 th from cancer; she was days away from turning 75 years old. One of ten

brothers and sisters she precedes Raul Vega, Gracie Flores, Arturo Vega, Esther Webb, Delia Blanco,

Ruben Vega, Rene Vega, Teresa Almazan, and Ricky Vega.

A devoted wife and loving mother, Connie was known for her witty humor and love of jokes. From an

early age she traveled to California and then back to Texas where she met her husband, Enrique. After

they married, she moved to Houston where they raised a family. As her children grew older, she

eventually joined her husband in The Kingdom of Bahrain as he worked.

While living there Connie enjoyed traveling with Enrique and exploring different parts of the world from

Portugal to South Africa. Over thirty countries in all. She was a very brave and adventurous woman who

traveled through Europe alone and rode an elephant through a mountain pass in Thailand. She also was

courageous and overcame her fears by venturing into Iran with Enrique. A place where few Westerners

visit.

To know Connie was to love her. And that love could be felt by all of those who came in contact with

her. She was an animal lover who had many pets and was joined in her passing by her favorite dog

Sebastian. In her early years Connie worked as a technician at Texas Instruments and eventually as a

phlebotomist with Memorial Hermann Hospital for many years.

Always on the move and full of life she enjoyed gardening, reading, and old west movies. Connie was

also a very lucky gambler and enjoyed playing the slot machines and chalupa with friends and family.

She led a full life, was truly loved, and will always be remembered.

Connie is survived by her husband Enrique Garzoria Jr., her son Henry and his wife Nancy, her son Gabby

and his wife Christy. Connie was always full of joy when spending time with her grandchildren Anthony,

Tristian, Bella, Kikin, and Sophia. She would have been overjoyed to meet her first great grandchild

Santana.
