Gladys Mae Thomas (Devalt) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Toledo Hospital on October 25,2021.

Gladys was born in Fayette, MS on October 20, 1945 to John D. Devalt Sr. and Dorothy Devalt. Gladys was the eldest of 5 children. Gladys accepted Christ at an early age.

Gladys went to Libbey High School. She held various jobs throughout her life but her last job was the head cook at Ridgewood Manor in Maumee, Ohio, where she retired.

Gladys was married to Michael Thomas for 35 years. He was the love of her life. Gladys enjoyed watching and listening to Jimmy Swaggert preaching the word of God and listening to her wonderful Gospel music. Most importantly she loved spending quality time with her grands and great grands. Gladys was the family "Prayer Warrior". Whenever anyone called her no matter how she felt, she would answer "Blessed and Highly Favored in the Lord". Gladys also enjoyed her long morning talks with her sister Ethel talking about everything under the sun.

Gladys was preceded in death by both parents John and Dorothy Devalt, brother David Devalt, Sr., bonus daughter Lisa Thomas, nephews David Devalt, Jr., Shalon R. Devalt and Branden Devalt.

Gladys leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband of 35 years Michael Thomas, her children; Kimberly (Alex) Hill, of Toledo, Ohio, Kevin (Janice) Staples of Holland, Oh, James Thomas, Jr. of Toledo, Ohio, her bonus children; Sonia (William) Anderson and Michael (Shawnee) Thomas, Jr. of Toledo, Ohio, brother; John D. Devalt, Jr. Tony (Karen) Devalt all of Toledo, Ohio, sisters; Ethel (Ronnie) Vaughn, Francis (George) Gant and Christie McFadden all of Toledo, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
