Ronald Bryant

Ronald (Ron) Bryant, 63, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on October 9th, 2021 surrounded by family. His battle with recent medical issues showed his courage in facing life challenges with unmatched strength. Despite those challenges, Ron came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Ron was born to parents Aron Bryant and Thelma Smith Bryant on March 5th, 1958 alongside his twin brother in Roanoke, Alabama. Ron graduated from Wadley High School where he excelled scholastically and athletically and later received a degree in Business from The University of Toledo after he migrated to Toledo, OH.

Ron was a salesman at heart. Ever determined, he could sell sand to a man in a desert if you let him. After spending many years in the carpet business, Ron found his niche at Home Depot. He was so proud of his 21 years there and had the watch, hoodie, coat, shirts, mugs, lunch bags, hats and gloves to prove it. He loved to show everyone his picture on the company plane after he received a recognition award.

In 1979, Ron met his then wife, Julia and went on to have three children. Ron put family first, always, and was a dedicated father and grandfather. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he proudly and often mentioned. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Ron. He loved a quiet evening at home listening to music on his record player. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in daily activities. His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met and he was always ready with a good Dad joke.

Ron was loved and will be greatly missed.

Ron is survived by daughters Ronata (Paul) Robinson, Courtney (Daniel) Bryant and son Caleb Bryant; brothers Aron (Marv) Bryant, David Bryant, Donald Bryant; sisters Mary Bryant, and Linda Bryant; loving grandchildren Kameron, Cameron, Caiden, King, Kennedy, Kendall and Daniel Jr. as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aron and Thelma and older brother, Joseph.

“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Unknown

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 21st, 2021 at the House of Day funeral home.
