<p>Mr. Robert Johnson, Jr., affectionally known as “Jr.” and “Uncle Jr.” passed this life suddenly on September 14, 2021 in Toledo, Ohio at the age of 72. Robert was the youngest of five children and the only son of Robert Johnson Sr. and Annie B. (Metts) Johnson. </p><p><br></p><p>Jr. accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and loved the fellowship of friends and family. He was a 1967 graduate of Jessup W. Scott High School. He was employed at ‘The Docks’ and Supreme Bumper before his music career launched. Jr. did not mince words and was known as a tease; any and everyone was fair game to be picked on. </p><p><br></p><p>Jr. had a love for music, he was a self-taught musician, learning to play first by ear and then learning to read music. As a teenager Robert played lead guitar with family friend Benny, Jr. (O’Neal) whom he taught to play guitar. Jr. played for friends and family at house parties then at local clubs like Toledo’s ‘Green Light’! </p><p>In the mid-60s Jr. joined the band of ‘The Esquires’ a Soul/ R &amp; B group where he played lead guitar on the recording ‘Get On Up’ and ‘Get Away’, this recording was released in August, 1967 and this is Jr.’s claim to fame! Jr. boasted that he also played at the Malibu Club! This career and lifestyle allowed Robert to travel extensively. </p><p><br></p><p>Robert Jr was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Annie Johnson; four sisters; Lillie Barnett Bell, Mary Lee Middleton, Leola O’Neal and Susie Mae Goins. </p><p><br></p><p>He leaves to cherish his memory: Sons - Robert Parker and Steven (Joy) Parker; daughters -Pamela Jackson (Marwin) and Twanda Williams; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of a other loving nephews and nieces</p>
