Sharon E. Syph Obituary

The sun rose on June 5, 1944 for Evelyn Berniece and Cleo Syph, Sr. with the birth of their firstborn princess Sharon Elaine Syph. Sharon gained her heavenly wings September 9, 2021.


Sharon attended and graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School. Then she went to Davis Business College and graduated. Upon graduating, she went to work for First National Bank, now known as Fifth Third Bank. She was a supervisor in the Trust and Investments Department for 45 years until her retirement in June of 2009.


Sharon accepted Christ at an early age at First Church of God. She later became a member at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church with her sisters, serving under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John E. Roberts. She worked in the children's ministries and various other ministries in the church for several years. Sharon was a loving, active, faithful member, serving God until her passing.


Sharon had one son, whom she loved dearly, Kevin Cleo Syph, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents Evelyn Berniece and Cleo Syph., Sr., her sister Pam Joyner and brother, Terry Fletcher.


Sharon is survived by her grandsons, Demeterius, Ki'Shawn and Ashton Syph; her sisters, Bridgett (Theodore) Montgomery, Victoria Hunter Jacqueline J. Robbins Jackson; her brother Cleo (Jennifer) Syph Jr.; her uncles, Norman Foster and Theodore Syph, Sr.; her aunt Beatrice Foster and her sister-in-law Renita Fletcher. She is also survived by special loved ones her niece, Tracy (Glen) Cross and Darcy Dotson-Chears; her friends Jackie Taylor, Judy Tillman, Linda and Driya Williamson along with a host of nices, nephews, cousins and friends.
