Obituary

Michael Karl Parker, 62, of Toledo, peacefully passed away on September 6th in the presence of his mother, after a difficult battle with lung cancer.

Michael was born on May 6th, 1959. He was one of eight siblings in the blended family of Jearleana and James E. Parker. Michael was baptized and confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and accepted Christ as his savior.

Just shy of 18, Michael joined the Marines. Lance Corporal Parker served his country for approximately 2 years as a Rifleman in the Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Division of the US Marine Corps and was awarded a Rifle Expert Badge before he was honorably discharged in 1978.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, James, his sister Lynnette, and his brother Tony. Memories of his love of music, his razor-sharp wit, and sense of humor will sustain his mother, Jearleana; his siblings, Carolyn Parker, Patricia Parker, Ricky Parker, Dawn Rhodes (Jeffery, deceased) and Chris Parker (C'Shalla); and a wealth of nieces and nephews, some of whom he often called by their first and middle names.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) or the American Cancer Society.
