John Sutton
<p>John was born March 3, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, to the union of Rudolph Sr. and Massie Sutton. He departed this life on August 5, 2021, in his home, with his loving wife by his side. </p><p><br></p><p>John is preceded in death by both parents; son, Elton John Sutton; sisters, Elizabeth Thames, Barbara Stubbs, and Georgette-Rose Sutton; brothers, Rev. Rudolph Sutton Jr., and James-Jimmy Sutton Sr.</p><p><br></p><p>John was raised and attended school in Swanton, Ohio. He accepted Christ at an early age. In the mid-seventies, John enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged. He was employed at Riverside Hospital, and then he went to St Anne's Hospital retiring after 30 years of service.</p><p><br></p><p>John enjoyed fishing, gardening, old-school music, and dancing. He also enjoyed washing and waxing his custom-made "PT Cruiser". John was a sharp dresser from head to toe, always coordinating in any color outfit.</p><p><br></p><p>On March 3, 1984, John united in marriage with his wife of 37 years, Mamie (Moore) Sutton, who survives him. Also, surviving are his sons, Jerry (La'Vonda) Sutton, Quincy Sutton, Joshua Sutton, Tony Moore, and Markie (Sheherah) Boykin Sr.; daughters, Nicole (Sean Sr.) Walker and Meghan Sutton; five brothers, Yusef-Joseph (Melinda) Sutton, Eugene Sutton, Leroy Sutton, David Sutton, and Claude Sutton; five sisters, Willa Mae Ligon, Betty Hunt, Ruth Sutton, Lillian Sutton, and Beatrice Sutton; special aunt, Dorothy Bell; 28 grandchildren, and a host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, and friends.
