She attended the Mount Olive Basic School, then the St. Richards Primary School.

In her early days she did buying and selling of goods and traveled to Panama, curacao, and Miami. She moved to the USA in the late 70's. Before moving to the USA she met the love of her life Anthony Banton.

The union blossomed into a loving marriage on February 26, 2004. She had no biological children but adopted Avagail Grant (Pinky) as her daughter and Kevoy Banton (Joel) as her son.

She loved her family dearly and no matter the circumstances, she was always ready to assist in whatever way she could.

She was kind-hearted, loving, jovial, and always a friend indeed. She always visited Jamacia once per year and would share some special moments with her friends and family, like Lloydie Sharp (deceased) Pollyboy, Keith Haynes, Flourgon and Lizard.

She also attended a culinary Art School in Jamaica Hence her passion for cooking and baking.

Dawnie worked at Continuing Healthcare of Toledo nursing home for 18 years, where she tirelessly assisted people in need of help in getting bak on their feet. She will be surely missed.

Dawnie as she was affectionately called by her brother Alonzo was a sweetheart, a sister and best friend. She was a God mother to both Alonzo's kids., Raheem and Julissa. Our lives will be a sadder place without her. Dawnie Touched each and everyone in a special way.

She left us with memories that we will be cherished for a lifetime. Gone but not forgotten. Live on Dawnie, rest in peace. Pave the way for us in your Father's Kingdom. You are Gone way too soon and I look forward to the day I will see you again. Rest easy my sweet friend. I love you.
