Lysander D. Townsend was the first born son of the late Lysander Townsend Sr. and Darcea Miles. He was born July 13, 1976 and ended his earthly journey on January 11, 2021. Lysander was a loving son, devoted bother, father, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Lysander was recognized as a genius at 3 years old. At the age of 12 he was amongst the 1st class recipients of the highly selective and prestigious Bill Gates Scholarship. This Scholarship awarded him to attend St. John's High School and receive a full academic scholarship to the Ohio State University. Lysander was a fisrt generation college graduate, obtaining a degree in Computer Science. His love for learning later led him to complete his Robotic Engineering Program. Lysander went on to work in his field of studies in many states throughout the country. He also served in the National Guard from 2002-2009.

Lysander is preceded in death by his father, Lysander Townsend Sr.; his brother, Levon Townsend; his uncle, Jeffrey Townsend; and special cousin, Eduardo Adams Jr.

Left to cherish his precious love and memories is his son, Lysander Townsend III; his mother Darcea Miles of Toledo; one brother, Makel Allen of Toledo,; two sisters, Nichole Townsend Muniru (Nuru Muniru), Tiffany Townsend; grandmothers, Margarete Miles and Dorothy Townsend; four aunts, Bernadine Townsend, Rochelle Jackson, Angela Miles Lauretta Satterfield of Toledo, Ohio; eight uncles, Harvey (Julia) Townsend, Lawrence Townsend, Henry Townsend, Shaun Townsend, Lamont Miles, Frankie Miles, Kenneth Satterfield, Eduardo Adams Sr. of Toledo, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Miya, JayShon, Kierra, Shavonna, Levon, Da'veon, Leondre, Abdul, Habiba, and Haijara; special cousin, Anthony ((Paulie) Adams; and a host of many loving cousins and friends.
