Obituary

After courageously fighting a health battle for almost 20 years our beloved Beasley, “Uncle Bee Bee” as he was known by his nieces and nephews began to enter his final journey here on earth with all his brothers and sisters flying in and out to be with him.  In his last hour, his brother Kadren was with him.  He was ushered into his eternal rest with his beloved wife of 36 years, Dorothy, along with his children Bryan, Brandon and Philicia, granddaughter Reyna and his two baby sisters Alvado and Kawinta at his bedside.

If our love alone could have saved him, he would still be here as we worked together sparing no efforts or expense to save him.  His baby sister Kawinta doubled as not only the little sister that thought he hung the moon, but also his own personal nurse throughout his entire health battle and spent many sleepless nights fighting to save him but God had a different plan.  Although it broke our hearts to lose him, he is suffering no more.  Dance our big-hearted guy, dance!  You are free now!

Our "Bee Bee" was the center of our family.  He was a father figure to all that didn’t have a father.  His children and their friends speak often of how he was a father to the ones that didn’t have one.  He had a special bond filling in as a father figure to his nephew, Danny Rodriquez.

Philip helped his mother with his siblings before moving to Texas to start his own life at 25 years old where he met the love of his life, Dorothy Ann Yvonne Biagas.  He worked for almost two decades for Union Carbine and then Texas City ISD before  medically retiring.  After retiring, he often helped with his nieces and nephews whenever called upon.

To list the names of all the ones he had a special bond with would take a paragraph, but it's safe to say they are all heartbroken over the loss of their uncle "Bee Bee".

Phillip Lee Joseph Biagas was born in Lafayette, LA to Dally Ruth Landry Biagas and Roland Patrick Biagas on August 6, 1961.  He departed life at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.  He was a long-time resident of La Marque, TX.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Dorothy Ann Yvonne; two sons, Bryan Joseph Biagas and Brandon Lee Biagas; one daughter; Philicia Yvonne Biagas; two granddaughters, Reyna Ritell-Biagas and Tiana Garley; four brothers, Roland Biagas (Jacklyn) of Fayetteville, NC, Kevin Biagas (Alma) of Hitchcock, TX, Kadren Biagas (Dorene) of Clear Lake, TX and Datris Biagas (Katesha) of Baltimore, MD; five sisters, Roma Biagas-Duresseau of Tipp City, OH, Sheree Biagas of Porter, TX, Sheral White of Carencro, LA, Alvado Willis (Chris) of Opelousas, LA and Kawinta Biagas of Oklahoma City, OK.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Renard James Biagas; his twin brother, Philbert Joseph Biagas, his sister, Catrina Faith James; his mother Dally Ruth Biagas; his father, Roland Patrick Biagas; his paternal grandparents, Occelia Simien and Plenney Joseph Biagas and maternal grandparents, Allen Landry, Sr. and Aldine Thibodeaux Landry.

There will be a public visitation held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. with a chapel service to follow at 11:00 a.m.  Services will be held at Bay Area Funeral Directors located at 5410 FM 1765 (facing Highway 3) in Texas City, TX 77591.  Burial to follow at Galveston Memorial Park, 7301 Memorial Street in Hitchcock, TX 77563.

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.  For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.  For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the  coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.” - Thessalonians 4:13-15
