Lascelles Jeffery Cross

<p>Lascelles Jeffery Cross age 78 of Toledo, OH passed away on September 12,2016 surrounded by family and friends. Affectionately called ’ Pappa Lass,' ‘ Boss,' ‘Pops’ and most importantly Daddy, he was born to the union of Samuel Cross and Charlotte Johnson in Clarkstown, Jamaica on March 13, 1938.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1968 he immigrated to Toledo and was employed at Doehler Jarvis for over 30 years as a production supervisor.</p><p><br></p><p>Lascelles was married to the late Kathleen for over 30 years and was very dedicated to his family. His dedication to the community was evident in the formation of the Toledo West Indian American Cricket Club. He played cricket in his early age and later was elected as the treasurer for many years. A Great lover of reggae music and the playing of dominos he truly enjoyed the many years of his life.</p><p><br></p><p> He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Charlotte, brother Loland, wife Kathleen, and daughter Jacqueline.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving are his nine children; Trevor (Esther), Rose, George, Angela (Kevin), Glendon (Megan), Maxine, Lanetta, Duane, and Gary; five sisters, Velma, Mabel, Marion, Hilda, Eureka; eleven grandchildren, Marcus, Alicia, Chantell, Camille, Marc, Kristina, Vanessa, Jonathan, Duane, Erin, and Cassidy; great-grandchild, Myla, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. </p><p><br></p><p>Viewing Tuesday 5-7pm at House of Day Funeral Home 2550 Nebraska Ave. 419-534-2550. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday preceded by the wake at 10 am at Parkwood SDA Church, 2200 Parkwood Ave. with Pastor Steven Valles officiant. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.</p>
