Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am, proceeded by a wake at 10:00 am at the House of Day Chapel. Willie Chester Davis was born on June 20, 1930 to Booker T. and Vallie Mae Davis in Lawrence, Mississippi. He was the eldest of 11 children. Willie was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Fannie Marie Newton. After four years of service in the U.S. Army, Willie moved to Toledo, Ohio. He married Katie Wilbourn on August 25, 1956. They were blessed with 59 years of marriage, 5 children, and 13 grandchildren. During his life, Willie enjoyed simple pleasures; playing his guitar, keeping a nice car or motorcycle, and keeping his yard looking good. Willie worked for 38 years at Midland Ross and retired as shop foreman. After his retirement he started his own business doing what he loved, landscaping. When he was not working, he could often be found in McDonald’s talking with friends. Willie went home to be with the Lord on May, 2,2016. He will be fondly remembered by a host of many family members and friends.
