<p>Service Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 3:00pm, wake at 2:00pm at the House of Day Chapel. Charles Boyd III, age 69 was born November 13, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles “Rabbit” Boyd Jr. and Helen Marie Williams.Charles departed this life, Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Flower Hospital. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepfather, Fred Piggee and brother, Eugene Piggee. He volunteered to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 – 1972, during this time he served two tours of duty. He was deployed during the Vietnam War, earned various medals, and was honorably discharged in October 1972. Charles attended Owens Technical College and one of his passions was learning about the legal system. Over the years he accumulated a collection of law books. While employed at Iowa Security Company as a security guard at night he worked at the U. S. Postal Service for 9 years during the day as a mail carrier and truck driver. Charles was a laborer at Co-Bar Corporation steel company until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed listening and singing to “Old School“ music on Mix 95.7 fm radio and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Charles is survived by his stepmother Marian Boyd of Toledo; siblings, William (Lynn) “Hoppy” Boyd of Bel Air, Maryland, Larry (Mollie) Boyd of Toledo, Regina (Elmer) “Pinky” Wilson-Stewart of Toledo, Fred Piggee of Toledo, Anna Piggee of Toledo, Myrtle (Alfonzo) Johnson of Toledo, Robert (Rosemary) Piggee of Toledo, Ronald Piggee of Toledo, Helena Piggee of Toledo and Shirley (Howard) Hicks of Toledo; children, Jenell Williams of Toledo, Walter “Boostie” Boyd of Richmond, Virginia, Sandra Boyd of Toledo, Sarina (Bryant) Cosper of Toledo, Katrina Worthy of Toledo, Julian Boyd of Toledo, Natasha Boyd of Toledo, Jason Schofield of Toledo; grandchildren, Tashala Boyd, Shayna Boyd, Bre’Anna Worthy, Jazmyn Worthy, Brookelyn Cosper, Aaron James Parker, Laryah Worthy, Tamyah Worthy, Dana Bethany, Octavia Wilson, Octavius Wilson, Shayna Sutton, Kyla Schofield, Jason Schofield Jr., and London Schofield; aunt, Marion Darden, uncle James Jones, aunt Gloria Cochran, and a host of loving nieces, nephews and family members.</p>
