Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 am, wake at 10:00 am at Union Grove, 3232 Nebraska Ave. Pastor Charlene Brown, age 72, made her transition to glory on March 15, 2015. Pastor Brown was born October 15, 1942 in Osceola, Arkansas to the union of the late, George and Rosie McFarland. Pastor Brown moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1953. She attended Edward Drummond Libbey High School. Pastor Brown was united in Holy matrimony to Albert Brown, Sr. in 1960. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and renewed her vows in 1964 under the leadership of the late, Pastor Macella Braggs at Tried Stone C.O.I.C. where she served as Assistant Pastor for many years, becoming Pastor in 1996 and served until 2002, where she had a passion and quest for souls. Pastor Brown then serves as Pastor of Victory P.C.C. under the leadership of Bishop William Nelson Clark until her illness. Pastor Brown was employed with Toledo Head Start for 10 years and with Children Services for 15 years as a Day Care Provider. She was affectionately known as “Granny”. Pastor Brown was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clyde Harris and Eddie McFarland; sister, Mary Watkins; 1 daughter, Hellene Brown; 1 daughter-in-law, Pamela Brown; 4 brothers-in-law, Otis Watkins, Eddie Brown, Ben Davis and J. T. Johnson; 2 uncles, Roosevelt and Daniel Holmes; 4 aunts, Ressie Cason, Eddie Mae Johnson, Catherine Parnell and Mildred Wells. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Albert Brown,Sr.; children, Roosevelt (Patricia), Albert, Jr. (Tina), Fredrick Brown, McKinly Jones and Michelle (Kenneth) Currier; 3 sisters, Helen Suttles, Thelma Williams and Earlie Davis; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 brothers-in-law; 8 sisters-in-law; 1 uncle, Aaron Brown; 2 aunts, Jannie Wilbourn and Betty Cayson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
