Ivan R. Bumpus, Sr, 50, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away last Thursday, June 27, 2013, at UTMC, surrounded by his loving family. Ivan was born in Toledo, on a Monday, May 27, 1963, to Jimmie, Sr. and Shirley (Boxley) Bumpus. Ivan is now at rest and at peace after and extended illness. Ivan was a graduate of Macomber/Whitney High School, class of 1981. Ivan's life revolved around his two sons, Ivan, III and Michael. They often went camping on weekend trips. He also had them involved in many outside activities. Ivan's sons were always by his side. He truly loved his sons and was very protective of them. Ivan's first jobs were at Provo Meats and Toledo Clutch and Brake. He also worked in Security at Mercy Hospital/ St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, from August 1986 to February 2002. Later, he owned his own Power Wash Company. He operated it until his health failed. He also found time to take classes at U.T. Ivan was preceded in death by his baby son, Ivan, II, his father, Jimmie, Sr., and brother, Eugene. Ivan's survivors include his two sons, Ivan, III and Michael; brother, Jimmie, Jr., two sisters, Mrs. Ivy Hopkins and Shirley Bumpus; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends and the mother of his two sons, Mrs. Michelle McClanahan and her daughter, Nicole Michelle.
