Arthur Burton

<p>Arthur Burton Jr. was born August 28, 1930 in Ridgely, Tennessee to Arthur Sr. and Lizzie Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Bell, sisters, Lone, Dossie Tolbert, Jessie Womack, Mary Culp; brother, Norris; daughter Delores Boykin and grandson Brian Keith Burton. Art entered the US Army on June 21, 1951 and was stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky where he ranked as Corporal. During his service, he fought in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart and the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Camp Stars. Art was honorably discharged on March 20, 1953. Art was a laborer for many companies before retiring from Mercy Hospital. He also worked for the Toledo Blade for 30 years. Art leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Rose Fleming, Milwaukee, WI; brother, Marshall Lee Burton; sons, Raymond L. (Rosemary) Burton Sr., A. Wayne (Kim) Burton, Fort Wayne, IN, Patrick (Heather) Burton; daughters, Elder Jessica Burton, Dearborn Heights, MI, Elaine (Terry) Gamble, Jacksonville, AL, and Patricia (Francis) Dumbuya. Grandchildren, Raymona, Raychel, &amp; Raymond Burton Jr., LaDale Jackson, Loren Mark, DeLana, &amp; Lawrence Jerel Boykin; Jasmyn, &amp; Courtney Burton; Willie Lee, III &amp; Jocelyn Perryman, Terrill, Trevor, and Timothy Gamble; Orbai &amp; Alhajie Dumbuya, and 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.</p>
