Obituary

Ollie Washington Banker went to meet her Lord and Savior, on March 25, 2012. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great and Great Grandmother.

Born in St. Louis, MO., from the union of Virgil Washington and Laura Lewis, she was the second of her three sisters, Elnora Miller, Ada Wallace-Floyd, Effie Mosley, and their only brother, Booker Washington, whom have all preceded her in death.

Before leaving St. Louis and settling in Toledo, she worked at the Ammunition plant. After leaving the plant, she obtained her license in cosmetology, which she held for over 25 years. While in Toledo, Ollie worked several different jobs before settling in at Lamson's Downtown. She worked there until the doors closed for good in the 1970's. After Lamson's, Ollie worked at St. Charles' Hospital, retiring in 1986, after 10 years of service.

Her life long hobby was caring for her offsprings and her children's offspring.

She was a long time member of Mt. Pilgrim Church, under the leadership of Rev. Coleman and Rev. Raymond G. Bishop, Jr.

From her union to Harold W. Banker, whom she wed in St. Louis, had three children, Harold W. Banker, Jr., Larry V. Banker, and Susan Knox-Quinn. After several years in Toledo, she met and wed Milton Shoecraft.

Because of her timely calling from her Lord and Savior, she leaves behind her three children; five grandchildren, Nancy (Alvin) Nolen, John W. Knox, III, Harold T. (Heidi) Banker, Charles R. Quinn, II and Melissa (Kris) Green; eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 12:00 noon, preceded by a 11:00am Wake at Mt. Pilgrim Church.
