Williams Donald Dobbs

<p>DOBBS William Donald, Sr. "Bubble" William Donald Dobbs, Sr. (affectionately called Bubble) passed away on March 23, 2011, after a brief illness at Flower Hospital. He was born May 18, 1943, to the late Ollie Mae and Melvin Dobbs in Carrollton, Georgia. He moved to Toledo, Ohio, in 1965. This is where he met and married the love of his life (Frances Sweeney-Dobbs). They have been married over forty years. Bubble worked as a tire specialist for Gene Richardson and Sons and B. F. Goodrich until he was injured in 1978. Up until his death, he was a foster grandparent to the students at Fulton and King Schools. Bubble enjoyed singing, playing cards, and having an occasional "Jones Roast" in the game of Bid Whist. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He spent a lot of time visiting hospitals, jails, and speaking with young adults and children about alcoholism. He was preceded in death by both parents and siblings, Larry Dobbs, Linda Hollis, Dorothy Hayes Tate. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Deborah, Reginald, Darlene (Tom), Richard, David (Ulonda), Mary Sweeney and Donnie (Sheri) Dobbs; special uncle, Joe (Mildred) Stegall; special niece, Amelia (Niecy) Hayes-Jones; brother-in-law, Lester Hollis; seventeen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at House of Day Funeral Home from 3-5pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011, at Pinewood Tabernacle Church, 531 Pinewood, Toledo, Ohio, at 12pm. Wake services at 11am. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff that works in the Intensive Care Unit at Flower Hospital.</p>
