Maxine Matilda Davis, age 72, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in Columbus, OH. Maxine was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on October 23, 1938 to Mack F. Walton and Mildred (Lee) Walton Smith. She was a member of Glass City Church of Christ in Toledo. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Luther B. Davis; father, Mack F. Walton and step-father, Booker T. Smith. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Walton Smith; children, Mildred Denise Smith, John A. Selmon, Jr., Thaddeus M. Selmon all of Toledo, and Bernadine (Byron D.) Poindexter of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Arthur Smith, Lareas Murck, Keith Murck, Byron D. Poindexter II, Tiara K. Poindexter, Sebastian Selmon; brother, Mack H. Walton; 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 4-8 pm Thursday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Glass City Church of Christ, 901 Hoag St. Toledo, OH 43607, where the family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service. Interment to follow at Forest Cemetery, Toledo.
