Arvee Carter Obituary

Arvee “Big Daddy” Carter Sr. made his peaceful transition to heaven on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at home surrounded by his family.


After moving to Toledo from Marianna, Arkansas, Arvee began his career with B. Llye Plastering Company. He later worked and retired from Chrysler Automotive Plant in Perrysburg, Ohio. Arvee was best known as a master plasterer as his workmanship can be found in city government buildings, the Toledo Art Musuem, Toledo Public Schools, churches, banks and many other facilities in and out of the city of Toledo. Along with his sons, Arvee maintained his company “Carter Plastering” until his health declined.


Arvee was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years and just 5 ½ months ago, Ida Mae Carter, three sons, three daughters, six brothers and one sister.


He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Arvee Carter Jr., Edward (Gloria), Quincey Sr., Calvin, DeMarco (Shirley), Wayne, Clarence, Timothy, Ricky and James (Robin) daughters, Maggie, Sylvia, Brenda, Precious, Joyce (Anthony), LaVenia (Cornell), Eva (Robert), Murlene and Arlene.


Wake services, Thursday from 6–8 p.m. at the House of Day Funeral Home.

Funeral services, Friday 12:00 noon at the Indiana Ave. Baptist Church.
