Charlotte Louise Biagas Obituary

Charlotte L. Biagas was the fourth of ten children born to the union of Matthew and Mildred Alston, on January 30, 1926, in Binghamton, N.Y. As a youth, she was educated in the Binghamton school system.

Charlotte grew up in quaint Binghamton, NY, a place she loved and always called home. Upon graduatin from high school, she moved to New York Cithy where she lived for a time with her aunt Alice. While living in New York, she met and eventually married a native of New Orleans, N. Miguel Biagas. During that union, they were blessed with 2 loving daughters. They evenually made Michigan their home where Charlotte took art classes at Wayne State University.

Her interest in art began with her father. Charlotte was the subject of a senior living news article that we have reproduced here as it captures her love of art, family and scrabble. She loved to travel and in her later years enjoyed the company of family and friends.

On October 9, 2009, heaven's curtains parted and God whispered, "Come home and rest my devoted child". She leaves her daughters: Suzanne Biagas and Michele (George) Ashford; siblings, Matthew "Buddy" Alston, who preceded her in death, Leo Alston, Alice White, Peggy (Ralph) Johnson, Jeanette LaSand, Shirli (John) Stepney, Suzanne Moody, Billy (Elaine) Alston and Richard (Nancy) Alston; grandchildren, James (Tomeka) Dixon, Lisa Dixon, Eric Kennedy, Matthew Dixon and Brandon Ashford; great grandchildren, James Dixon, Jr., Lela Dixon and Jada Dixon and a host of adored relatives and friends.
