Rommie Cathcart

<p>Rommie Cathcart Jr. was born to the union of Rommie and Geneva Cathcart on October 6, 1928 in York County, South Carolina. He departed this life to be with his heavenly father and many loved ones on December 8, 2008 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Monclova Township. He confessed his love for Christ at an early age. Rommie moved to Toledo,Ohio in the late 1950’s where he united and served on the deacon board at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Rommie served in the Korean War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1952. Rommie Cathcart was preceded in death by his loving wife Anna Mae and two of his sons, Donnie Cathcart and Ronnie Cathcart. He was a loving, devoted father and husband. One of his favorite sayings in prayer was “Father let me be a husband before my wife, and a father for my children”. </p><p> He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Linda Wilson (Gary), Dennis (Alice) Cathcart, and Bobby Cathcart all of Toledo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother: William (Ann) Cathcart; six sisters: Reola Robinson, Martha (Jodie) Womack, Gladys Ysaguirre, Helen Benton, Everlene (Charles) Adams, &amp; Doris (Rev. Percy) Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Day Funeral Home. Wake services will be held on Monday December 15 at 11am followed by funeral service at noon at the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. I. J. Johnson officiating, burial will be at the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.</p>
