WILLIAMS Mr. Alfred Jr. Mr. Alfred Williams Jr., 75, of Toledo, OH, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008, in The University of Toledo Medical Center. A graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School, Alfred was very active in the field of boxing. He was very active with the Golden Gloves in his early years, as a boxer, trainer, and promoter, and with Mohammad Ali Boxing training camp as he traveled the world training boxers. Alfred retired from The Dana Corporation after 31 years of service. He was also self employed as a real estate investor and with his own plumbing company. He was also one of the founding members of The Minority Contractors Association of Toledo. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Joaquin H. (Vrae) of Suitland, MD, Eric J. (Cornelia), and Channing A. (Kristen) Williams; daughters, Renee M. (John) Robinson, Bridgette A. (Calvin) King, Kandann A. Williams and Philana F. Williams of Cleveland, OH; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Calvin, Archie Lee of Atlanta, GA and Norman Williams; sisters, Geraldine Mitchell and Diane Williams-Wright; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2008, at The House of Day Funeral Service, 2550 Nebraska Avenue (419-534-2550). Funeral services 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008, with wake services preceding at 11 a.m. at 1st Church of God, 3016 Collingwood Avenue. Dr. Robert A. Culp presiding.
