<p>Rotterdam-Mrs. Sophie T. Faboskay, age 95, of Giffords Church Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, November 22, 2022, at Albany Medical Center.&nbsp; </p><p>She was born on November 4, 1927 in Mechanicville, daughter of the late William and Antoinette (Skrzypek) Govereski.&nbsp; Sophie was united in marriage with James Jay Faboskay in June of 1951 in Waterford, NY at St. Michael’s Church.&nbsp; Mr. Faboskay passed away on Nov. 20, 2017, after a devoted and blessed union of 66 years.&nbsp; As a young lady, Sophie worked for General Electric.&nbsp; Following this employment, Sophie was a homemaker.&nbsp; In her later years, she went back to work, being employed with the New York State Tax Dept. </p><p>Sophie enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She spent many happy memories traveling and camping and she enjoyed taking several trips with her husband.&nbsp; Many special times were spent with her family at her camp on Lake Pleasant.&nbsp; &nbsp;Her foremost priority was spending time with family members, who will all miss her deeply. </p><p>Survivors include her children, Donna Faboskay of Rotterdam, Laurie Russell and husband Michael of Duanesburg, Denise Faboskay-Satterlee (Gene Lewis) of Rotterdam; five grandchildren, Amber (Tony), Brittany, Jay, Mikey (Kaileen), Kelsey (Chris); great grandchildren, Grace, Owen, Cassidy and Asher; nieces, nephews and in laws.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents, her great grandson, Austin Hobbie, her sisters, Helen, Ann, Vi, Anne and a brother, Frank. </p><p>The family will receive relatives on Monday, November 28, 2022 at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, from 5-7 p.m.&nbsp; Sophie’s funeral will commence at 9:15am on Tuesday, Nov. 29th from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 10 am from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam with The Very Rev. James Belogi, Pastor, celebrating her Mass of Christian Burial.&nbsp; Procession will follow to St. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam, where she will be laid to rest.&nbsp; </p>

Rotterdam-Mrs. Sophie T. Faboskay, age 95, of Giffords Church Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, November 22, 2022, at Albany Medical Center.
