John Wesley “Johnny” Mitchum, Jr., 68, passed away at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC on Friday, November 18, 2022.

A Memorial Service will be held at the chapel of Wilkinson Funeral Home on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm prior to the service.

A Memorial Service will also be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Ridge.

Johnny was well known in the used car business over the years, having worked in several dealerships in North Carolina in his earlier years. He was owner and operator of Holly Ridge Auto Mart for the past twenty-five years. He will also be lovingly remembered for his wry wit and sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Thomas Mitchum.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Judith W. Mitchum of the home; Stepson, Bill Long (Leigh) of Beaufort, NC: his father, John W. Mitchum, Sr. of Mt Pleasant, NC; Brother, Eddie Mitchum (Louise) of Concord, NC and their daughter, Kellie Mitchum Davis (Jeremy) and their children of Warrenton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville SC, 29605-4277.
