Ruth "Tootsie" Fouillard
<p>Ruth “Tootsie” Fouillard of St. Lazare, MB passed away peacefully at the Birtle Personal Care Home of natural causes on November 20, 2022 at the age of 85 years surrounded by her family. </p><p>Tootsie was born in St. Lazare, MB on March 12, 1937, eldest daughter of Israel and Margaret Tremblay. She married her husband Roland on January 28, 1961 at the St. Lazare Roman Catholic Church. Tootsie lived in St. Lazare for most of her life. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved and cared for her family above all else. Tootsie touched many lives. She also took care of and babysat many children from the community, taking pleasure in encouraging education and learning in children. Although a very private person, Tootsie loved to receive visits from her friends and family to joke, tell stories and talk about any events and gossip around town. </p><p>She is predeceased by her husband Roland Fouillard (2006), parents Israel “Tirel” and Margaret “Maggie” Tremblay, brothers Jerome “Buster” Tremblay (the late Georgette), William “Billy” Tremblay (the late Lucille), Robert “Bobby” Tremblay (Mary Ann), Susan “Susie” Chartier (the late Claude). </p><p>She is survived by her son Raymond (Lisa), grandchildren Adam, Sean, Leanne, great grandchildren Aizik, and Brielle. Also survived by brothers Scott Tremblay (the late Genevieve), Denis Tremblay (the late Edie), and many nieces and nephews. </p><p>The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Birtle Personal Care Home for the care and comfort they have provided for Tootsie. </p><p>Cremation is to take place and Interment at the St. Lazare Cemetery next to husband Roland will follow in the spring. </p>Obituary
