<p>Brenda Sue Dean, 76, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, November 21, 2022.</p><p>Born January 4, 1946 to the late Leland and Christine Thurmond, she lived in Pickens County for several years but most of her life was in Dawson County. Brenda retired from the Pickens County School System where she worked as a nutritionist at Tate Elementary School for over 25 years. She enjoyed travel, playing Bingo, and was very devoted to her family. A member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Dean; and brothers, Robert Thurmond and Terry Thurmond.</p><p>Surviving are her children, Rick and Eugenia Thurmond, Dawsonville, Chris Fitts, Marble Hill, Kim Fitts Bishop, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Katie Bishop Moore, Damon Fitts, Tylor and Hope Fitts, Dustie Thurmond, Megan and Richard Green, Preston Fitts, Barry Thurmond; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Melissa O’Brien, Dawsonville; brother, Horace Thurmond, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.</p><p>Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 1 o’clock at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate.
