Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daphne Jeannine Jackson beloved wife and best friend of Dale Jackson in their 67th year of marriage. Daphne, the proud mother to Kim Jackson of Barrie, Brenda Chapman (Bart) of Stayner, Scott Jackson (Patty) of Utopia, Todd Jackson (Tina) of Stayner and Tracey Brown of Barrie.

Daphne’s greatest joy in life was being NANA to her amazing 15 grandchildren along with their spouses/partners, and 12 great grandchildren. She also held all her (sister in law) nieces, nephews and dear friends close (close) to her heart and loved to hear all about their lives. Over her years she cherished her time volunteering at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital and as a valuable member of the Collingwood Red Hat Society and Probus Club of Collingwood. Daphne was a pioneer in the sport of Ringette and played an instrumental role in the establishment of the game in Streetsville and Stayner. Her dedication to the sport did not go unnoticed as in 1987 as she was inducted as a Community Builder in the Ontario Ringette Hall of Fame.

Daphne/Mom/Nana/Great Nana the rock in our world, she showered the family with love, taught us the value of hard work, the importance of great friendships and to respect our community. She lived a full wonderful life. She travelled most of the world, and when faced with her health challenges she met them head on. Our Mom was never one to complain or to let anyone know the struggles she had, we will be forever indebted for the time she was with us. Our hearts are saddened and she will truly be missed. We are the lucky ones as the memories will live on each and every day.

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff that worked with Mom and helped guide us to Hospice Georgian Triangle - Campbell house. Shelley, Barb and Laura -PSW’s; Amanda, Melanie, MaryAnna – Nurses, who helped her at home. Dr. Catharine Moran and the Moran Medical Centre. Collingwood Dialysis Unit and all the amazing Nurses who cared for mom. Melanie Purdy, Case Manager with Home and Community Care -LHIN. Lisa Michail, Nurse Practioner with Home and Community Care- LHIN. Lori Morel-Occupational Therapist with Home and Community Care- LHIN. A special thanks to Maddie, Cheryl, LeAnne, Myke, Ross, Jennifer, Lorraine and all the other wonderful staff and volunteers at Hospice Georgian Triangle-Campbell House.

In lieu of flowers, our wish would be to make a donation to Hospice Georgian Triangle - Campbell House in Collingwood on Daphne’s behalf. Arrangements entrusted to Affordable Cremation Services, Collingwood. www.affordablecremation.ca
