Thomas Daniel Van Sr.

<p>THOMAS DANIEL VAN SR., 86 of Peshtigo, WI passed away on Sunday November 20, 2022 at Arbor Village. Tom was born on November 29, 1935 to the late Walter and Edith (Newhouse) Van.</p><p><br></p><p>During Tom’s life he traveled to many states and handled many jobs, working on cars, driving cab and doing maintenance. Later he and his friend Roselle owned and operated Van &amp; Weddles Texas fill up, eventually selling to then own and operate Denton Taxi Service in Texas until his retirement.</p><p><br></p><p>Tom met Addaline Frankenfield in Yuma Arizona where together they enjoyed helping others and volunteering at a thrift store to support hospice. Later they moved to Sweene, TN where Tom remodeled a house for them. They traveled often and made several trips to visit his children. They then settled in Winchester, TN. After Addaline passed (2018) he moved back home where he lived at Arbor Village Assisted Living for his last years. He kept himself busy by keeping things tidy.</p><p><br></p><p>Tom is survived by his children: Sherry Van of Menominee, Thomas Van Jr. (Char) of Stephenson, Phyllis Salagan of Stephenson, Scott Van (Lori) of Daggett, Christine Kubiak (Ron) of Wallace, Melody Rascek of Menominee, Michelle Hatcher (DeMarcus) of Texas, Trisha Trimble (TJ) of Indiana, Mark Preslar (Julie) of Tennessee; 29 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; lifelong friend: Betty Parrett; sister: Pat (Doug) Bergstrom; and sister-in-law: Leona Van.</p><p><br></p><p>Tom was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Edith; daughter: Janet Van; grandson: Dusty Van; Addaline and her sons: Mel and Jack Preslar; brother: Walter Van; sisters: Delores and Madeline; and niece: Julie.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held on Friday November 25, 2022 at the Maple Aire Community Center in Stephenson from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home is assisting the Van family with arrangements.</p><p><br></p><p>Tom’s family would like to thank Jody from Arbor Village and the other friends he made there, also to “the kickball gang”, Jess &amp; Marvin and their grandson Brian.</p><p><br></p>
