Roy H Hermansen

<p>Leroy Henry “Roy” Hermansen, 80, of Diamond Beach, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Born April 6, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. Roy attended Leonardtown High School in Maryland, but moved and graduated from Ocean City High School, New Jersey. He graduated from Drexel University, majoring in electrical engineering. Starting his engineering career at Philco Ford in Philadelphia, he later worked at Calspan on the development of the B2 bomber aircraft in New York. Later, he worked as an engineer at the Regional Headquarters of the United State Postal Service. </p><p><br></p><p>Roy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan (McCaffrey) Hermansen, his son Christian Hermansen (Heather), his daughter Karrie Hermansen-Douglas (Ed), his brother Richard Hermansen (Robyn), and sister Ruth Ann Hermansen-Bye (Kirk). Roy has five beautiful grandchildren Tim, Ben, Nate, Addison and Avery. He was an active member of the EAA 216 Experimental Airplane club and is a brother of Delta Sigma Phi. Roy enjoyed playing golf, pickleball, flying planes, and traveling with his wife. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitations will be held Tuesday, November 29th from 9:30am to 11:30am, followed by a Christian Service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2810 Atlantic Ave, Wildwood, NJ 08260. Interment will follow with a private burial. </p><p><br></p><p>** FAMILY IS REQUESTING MASKS TO BE WORN IN CHURCH**</p>
