Rockport, IN – Peter “Pete” James Murphy III, 58, of Rockport, Indiana passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Pete was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 30, 1964, to the late Peter and Stella (Christmas) Murphy.

Pete was raised for part of his life in Cynthiana, Indiana. He enjoyed spending his days outside gardening with his grandchildren, listening to music, and talking with people. He was a fork truck driver at Corwood for many years before falling ill. Pete left a lasting impression on the ones that have had the opportunity to know him.

In addition to his parents, Pete is preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Murphy, and several uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Staats) Murphy; his son, Jeremy Staats; his daughter, Jenny Wade; his granddaughters, Morgan Wade and Zoe Wade; his grandson, Jonah Wade; his brothers, Daniel Murphy and his wife, Cindy; Michael Murphy, and Patrick Murphy; several nieces and nephews.

Services are 12 P.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Pastor Jason Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Cynthiana, Indiana.

Visitation is 10 A.M. until 12 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
