Arthur Langford

Arthur Langford, 80, Neenah, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness, Sunday, September 19, 2010. Art was born October 25, 1929, in Prairie du Chien, son of Orville and Caroline (Wilson) Langford. Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. On June 27, 1953, Art married Barbara Esser, and they recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. Art was employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation as a machine operator for 38 years, and also was a recording secretary for Local Union 482. His hobbies included fishing, which he did all of his life, playing cards, and enjoying his retirement for 24 years. Art was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. Art is survived by his wife, Barb; 4 children: Susan (Herman) Oesterreich, Terri (Kenneth) Reigel, Tim (Bev) Langford, and Mary (Mike) Higgins; grandchildren: Aaron (Kathy) Hawkinson, Rebecca (Tony) Prouse, Joshua (fiancAC.e Dawn) Reigel, Joe Reigel, Wally (Ann) Seelow, RuthAnn (Mike) Ross, Cindy (Bob) McLaughlin, Chase Golden, Chelsea Golden, Justin Higgins, Zachary Higgins, Michael (Sara) Higgins, and Ryan Higgins; great grandchildren: Cassandra, Shane, Riley, Luke, Zachary, Riley, and Leland; sisters-in-law: Carolyn (Harold) Crubel, Sally Champion and Marsha (Larry) Nunn; a brother-in-law, Alex (Ansy) Esser; many nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carrie Evelyn Macke; half sisters, Violet Jungenberg and Rose Lessard; brothers-in-law: Mark (Myrna) Esser, Jack (Pat) Esser, Ricky Esser, and Robert Champion; a nephew, Walter Lessard Jr.; father- and mother-in-law, Leroy and Marie Esser. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah. A parish prayer service led by Fr. Paul Radetski will begin at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. Art's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Fresenius Medical Care, Neenah, as well as Dr. Winek at the Appleton Medical Center, for their loving kindness and compassion.
