Obituary Lorna "Cookie" Thompson, age 89, of Neenah, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. Lorna was born on October 18, 1932 in Mosinee, WI, daughter of the late Leo and Bertha Ahles. After graduating from Mosinee High School, she went to work as an accountant. She married James Thompson on September 19, 1959. Lorna was an accountant for various companies throughout her career, the longest of which was Kimberly-Clark. She worked in the Accounting Department and then transferred to the Health Center where she was known for greeting everyone with her beautiful, contagious smile. In her younger years, she enjoyed many activities including motorcycle riding, downhill and cross country skiing, biking, camping and running. Most of all, she enjoyed golfing and would golf as often as she could. On June 1, 2008, she got a "Hole in One" at Bridgewood Golf Course. It was on the 8th hole for 85 yards. Lorna is survived by her husband, Jim, of 62 years; her daughters, Jayme (Tom) Brooks and Tammy (Kevin) Schmid-Mulry; her grandchildren, Kassy (Zachary) Williams, Tara (fianc Brandon) Brooks, Bryenna (Austin) McConnell, Colin (Leanna) Mulry, Cory and Christopher Mulry, Cody, Justin, Kylie, and Alexy Schmid; great-grandchildren, Luella Jo, Corbin, and Everett. She is further survived by her siblings, Glen (Rosemary) Ahles, Lawrence Ahles, Phyllis (Wallace) Stanton, Diane Dawiedczyk, and sister-in-law, Ann Ahles. Lorna was preceded in death by her brothers Norman Ahles and Vernon (Rosetta) Ahles, a brother-in-law, Clarence Dawiedczyk and a sister-in-law, Virginia Ahles. A Celebration of Life for Lorna will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah.
