Darrell Eugene Ewing

Darrell E. Ewing, 48, Neenah, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016. He was born on August 1, 1967, to Darrell and Joyce (Phillips) Ewing in Naperville, IL. Darrell was united in marriage to Sara Hartman in 2012. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and wanted to hunt. Darrell loved to drive when he was younger, most recently he would take his wheelchair out and cruise the neighborhood. He was an avid reader of crime thrillers and paranormal fiction. Darrell loved spending time with his family, he had a lot of friends online that he considered to be his second family. He enjoyed listening to country and heavy metal music. Darrell had a love for animals especially dogs. Darrell is survived by his wife: Sara; two siblings: David Ewing and Sandy Geyler; a nephew: Jarrod; three nieces: Adrianne, Abby and Emmi: an aunt: Helen Durke; a close friend: Momma Val; many other friends and relatives. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00PM, Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah, with Rev. Ruby Kleinschmidt officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, at Atrium Post Acute Care, 125 Byrd Ave., Neenah. Memorials may be directed to the Spina Bifida Association at www.spinabifidaassocaitons.org. In memory of Darrell the family asks that those in attendance wear brightly colored clothes. He was a big deal for me.Often amusing, most of what he said had a subtle weight to it, suggesting a wisdom beyond those years that were given...Perhaps he just got there quicker than the rest of us!
