Gregory Jeroll Little

<p>Gregory Jeroll Little passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Greg managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was with his daughters and his wife. </p><p><br></p><p>Greg was born on January 31, 1957 in Colorado City, Texas, to John Travis Little and Aleta Awtrey Little. He was a 1975 graduate of Winnsboro High School where he served as captain of the football team and held multiple school records for a number of years. He played football at the University of North Texas before suffering a career ending shoulder injury. Greg returned to Winnsboro where he spent the next 45 years in the oilfield. </p><p><br></p><p>Greg loved being outdoors and spent most days on his back porch or tinkering in his shop with his dog, Blue by his side. He had a talent for woodwork and fixing anything that wasn’t working efficiently. Family was the most important thing to Greg- not just those he was born with, but all those he acquired along the way. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, solid work ethic and incredible love. </p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his father, John Travis Little and his brother, Luiey Micheal Little.</p><p><br></p><p>He will lovingly be remembered by his mother, Aleta Little; wife, Kathy Little; his two daughters, Shalinda Kelley and husband Rocky of Austin, Texas, and Sheena Votaw and husband Jeff of Austin, Texas; step son, Dustin Arnold of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his two grandchildren, Jake and Beau Kelley; siblings, Travis Wayne Little of Alba, Texas, and Sherry Brockway of Canton, Georgia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. </p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Beaty Funeral Home (816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX) at 10:00 am with Bro. Brock Mullino conducting.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.</p><p><br></p>
