<p>Sandra Fay Reed</p><p><br></p><p>Sandy Reed, age 65, of Linwood, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, November 15th, 2022. Visitation will be 10-11am, followed by the funeral at 11am, both Monday, Nov. 21st at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Sandy was born on April 2nd, 1957 in Kansas City, KS, and was the oldest of eight children born to James &amp; Goldie (Sons) McCleary. She and her siblings were raised in Bonner Springs and she graduated from Bonner Springs High School in the Class of 1975. Sandy married her high school sweetheart, Bruce Reed on January 20th, 1979 at the Rehm’s Park Southern Baptist Church in Bonner Springs. Together they made their home in Bonner Springs and later Linwood. She worked at Associated Wholesale Grocers in Kansas City, KS and later as an Administrative Assistant at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Technical Training center at Johnson County Community College. Sandy and Bruce were both longtime members of the Elm Grove Baptist Church. Sandy had a passion for softball which carried over into her being an umpire for over 35 years. She was a passionate and devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Kansas Jayhawks; she loved to cook, tend to her garden and spend time with her family. She absolutely loved being a Grandma. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was their number one fan. She led a life of always serving others whether it was volunteering at church. providing items for folks in need or ensuring someone had a hot meal, she always provided this with a happy giving heart. No one ever left her house without a full belly of food. She was a woman of God whom prayed feverishly for all whom she had the pleasure of knowing. Sandy had never met a stranger. She would strike up conversations with anyone and would always come home with the best stories. </p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents and three of her sisters: Carol McCleary, Mary Alice Duncan and Pam Jones.</p><p>Survivors include her husband Bruce Reed of the home, their two children Ben Reed of Tonganoxie, KS., and Kara Wardlow and her husband Jeremy of Grandview, MO. Grandchildren: Jordan, Keegan, Mason, Easton, Preslee and Dominick. Siblings: James W. McCleary, Rik McCleary and his wife Vikki, Kelly Gear and Michael McCleary.</p><p>Sandy had the kindest, most beautiful giving soul. We are so blessed to have had the time we had with her. She made us better version of ourselves. She will be deeply missed. She was our North Star. The great ones are the hardest to lose and she was the greatest. It is never goodbye; it is always until we meet again. Until next time, Sandra Fay. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
