<p>Roselle “Rose” Vandenheuvel, 91, of Apple Valley, MN, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2022, at Boden Senior Living in Apple Valley.</p><p>She was the daughter of Alphons M. and Ruth M. (Broski) Mertens, born on January 26, 1931, in Minneapolis, MN. She married Arnold W Vandenheuvel on November 23, 1959, at the Church of Saint Stephen in Minneapolis. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2013.</p><p>In 1965 Rose and Arnold purchased a farm in South Haven where they farmed for many years. While on the farm Rose tended the milk cows. She was very fond of animals including her horse, dogs, and cats. She had many fond memories and stories of her last cat Ollie. In 2011 Arnold and Rose moved to St Cloud. After her cancer surgery in 2013 she moved to Cannon Falls to be close to her care givers and husband’s family.</p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 53 years, sisters Alice Skelton and Lavonne Skelton and niece and nephews Marlys, Richard, and Rolland Skelton.</p><p>She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Joe Vandenheuvel (Cannon Falls), Nina Errington (Dundas), Michelle Murray (Cannon Falls) and Sandra Turner (Nashwauk) who assisted her after Arnold passed away.</p><p>A memorial mass will be performed at the Church of St Dominic, Northfield. Her remains will be cremated with interment taking place at 9:30 AM, Monday, November 28, 2022, in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Roselle and Arnold will be united and laid to rest following the graveside service.</p><p>Arrangements are with Bierman Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, Northfield. www.biermanfuneralhome.com</p><p><br></p>
