Obituary
Charlotte Krentel Landry passed away peacefully on Friday morning of November 11, 2022 at the age of 76. She was born and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana and taught for 28 years in the St. Tammany Parish School System with the majority of those years spent at Mandeville High School.
Charlotte is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 24 years, Brian Thomas Landry; two sons, Robbie (LeAnnna) Gibbs and Louis (Kristen) Gibbs; stepdaughter, Lauryn (Mark) Modenbach; sister, Elaine (the late James Hurtt) King; grandson, Kendall Gibbs; two granddaughters, Katelyn Gibbs and Kathleen Gibbs; three step-grandsons, Drew Modenbach, Luke Modenbach, and Harrison Owens; two step-granddaughters, Hélène Modenbach and Madylin Owens; and a host of extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Kendall Douglas Gibbs.
Charlotte possessed a strong Christian Faith, an intense love of family, an unfailing commitment to teaching, and a lifelong passion for sewing, quilting, and embroidering. She served as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer for many years and made several mission trips to countries that included San Salvador, Brazil and Mexico.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell, LA. A funeral service will begin in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Charlotte will be laid to rest at a private graveside service in Peace Grove Cemetery in Lacombe, LA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to STARC of Louisiana (starcla.org), a wonderful local nonprofit providing services, training, advocacy, resources, and community connections to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
