Richard J. Zambito Obituary

Richard J. Zambito, age 64, of East York, passed away on November 9, 2022, at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia after a hard-fought courageous battle.


Richard was born in York on March 19, 1958. He was the son of Anthony P. and Doris (Kauffman) Zambito. Richard graduated from William Penn Senior High School Class of 1976 and worked as a car salesman for York Lincoln Mercury and Stetler Dodge where he earned numerous top sales awards. Richard was the biggest supporter of his son’s baseball team, the Hellam Express, and a diehard Baltimore Orioles fan. His children were his absolute pride and joy.


Richard is survived by his loving angel Tammy S. Zambito; and his children Zachary M. Zambito and fiancé Carley, and Zoe M. Zambito. He is also survived by his brother Randy Helwig and wife Shirley; his sister Virginia MacIntyre and husband Bruce; his nephew Troy Helwig; and his nieces Heidi Krout, Angela Ream, and Lacey MacIntyre.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard’s Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 11:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 219 S. Beaver St., York, PA 17401 with the Very Rev. John Bateman, J.C.L., V.F. as celebrant. Interment will be private. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402 and on Thursday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church.


In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 219 S. Beaver St., York, PA 17401.
