Robert C. Strube 85, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 9th at his home.


Born in Albany, Bob was the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Barends) Strube and was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and later received his associates degree from Albany Business College.


A self-employed carpenter, Bob was a member of the carpenters Union and was formerly employed at General Electric and Quay Construction.


A member of the Rotterdam Elks and Owl Pond Hunting and Fishing Club in Hamilton County, Bob loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.


Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Richelle, Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years Sandra (Rudinski) Strube, his sons, James Strube of Rotterdam and David Strube (Regina) of Flagstaff, AZ, his grandchildren, Jasen Strube, Kyle Strube, Gannon Strube, Erik Strube (Sierra), Gianna Strube and Sophia Strube, his sisters, Carol Roberts, Doris Fiorillo (James) and Linda Adair and many nieces and nephews.


A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Saturday evening, November 19th from 4 to 6 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.


In lieu of flowers contribution may be made in Bob's Memory to the National Wildlife Federation.
